We’re going to cut right to the chase here, you have access to our checklist but I am going to give you all the information that you need to know in order to get Bandai’s 2025 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Dragon Ball Z figures. After that we’re going to take an in-hand look at each one to hopefully help you decide what you are going for this year.
First off, there are three exclusives this year: Great Ape Vegeta, Great Demon King Piccolo, and Son Gohan (Beast). If you are attending the show and you haven’t already, head directly to the Comic Con Exclusives Registration Portal right now and register because it closes on Thursday July 17th at 11:59 PM PST (yes, that’s today as of the publishing of this article). If you need some help with the process there is a Portal FAQ published here.
The portal is the the best and most direct way of getting your hands on the Bandai exclusives this year. If you are reading this and the registration time has already lapsed or if you were unable to book a spot through the portal there is still hope as the Bandai booth (#3329) will offer limited quantities towards the end of the day each day of the convention.
If you are not attending SDCC, Bandai may make the exclusives available through Premium Bandai, Tamashii Nations Store New York, or other official events. Follow me on my various socials and I’ll be sure to announce any updates for non-attendee purchases as soon as that information is made available.
Prices are as follow:
- Great Ape Vegeta (Exclusive Edition) – $220.00
- Son Gohan Beast (Exclusive Edition) – $90.00
- Great Demon King Piccolo (Exclusive Edition) – $100.00
Now that we have that out of the way let’s take a look at this year’s selections.
Great Ape Vegeta (Exclusive Edition)

Planning to purchase Great Ape Vegeta at San Diego Comic Con and are flying home? Make sure that you bring a sizable suitcase or are at least prepared to mail this figure back home. Great Ape Vegeta is huge, which means the box is also quite large! If you need to prepare packing space the dimensions of his box are about 15 x 14 x 7 inches and probably weighs over 5 lbs.
The original release of Great Ape Vegeta has been off the market for quite some time so it’s good to see that collectors that missed out will get another chance to own this one at a more reasonable price. I also think the new color scheme is a really nice upgrade.
To my original point, you don’t realize how giant this thing really is until you have it in hand. My photography setup wasn’t ready for his mass, so some light tent ended up creeping into a few shots. It’s an imposing figure and he’s really fun to mess around with.
Son Gohan Beast (Exclusive Edition)

We’re two for two right now with what I’d consider really smart choices as far as exclusives go. The original Beast Gohan was a P-Bandai exclusive which can sometimes be challenging to track down if you miss the preorder.
The pearlescent redeco of this figure really pops for me. Gohan’s new included effect part turned out great, especially with the layering of the purple and clear plastic. This figure has that aura about it.
Crossed arm gang represent!
Great Demon King Piccolo (Exclusive Edition)

As a collector of toy chairs this release pleases me beyond belief. The design of the Piccolo throne is one of my favorites and I’m really happy Bandai has finally released an official one. Piccolo fits on it perfectly and looks sassy as hell doing it, but there are many figures that would look great sitting upon the throne.
Piccolo actually pairs really well with the Tamashii Store exclusive Son Goku (Innocent Challenger) so Tamashii will be bringing Goku to San Diego Comic Con and making him available to purchase. If you want, when you go to purchase Piccolo buy yourself a Goku too, as a treat!

In conclusion I believe this is a very strong San Diego Comic Con exclusive lineup from Bandai. There is something that I was looking for in each figure and I’ve had a blast tinkering with them the last few days preparing to add them to my display shelves.
I mentioned it at the beginning but if you are down here now I’ll throw out one last warning: If you are attending San Diego Comic Con and want any of the Dragon Ball exclusives registers on the Exclusives Portal NOW! The portal will close on July 17th at 11:59 PM PST.
The biggest of thanks to the folks over at Bandai & Tamashii Nations who made this San Diego Comic Con preview possible.
