SDCC 2024: Tamashii Nations Bandai S.H.Figuarts Dragon Ball Exclusives

SDCC 2024: Tamashii Nations Bandai S.H.Figuarts Dragon Ball Exclusives

Back at it again this year with another exciting set of San Diego Comic Convention Dragon Ball exclusives! This year Bandai will have three new Dragon Ball exclusive action figure sets available to purchase in-person at the show: Son Goku/Son Gohan Kid/Kintoun, Super Saiyan Future Trunks, and Final Battle Jiren.

GOING TO SDCC? HERE’S HOW TO BUY THEM!

Like last year, in order to get the Dragon Ball exclusives you will need to head to the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina Terrace which will be hosting a Dragon Ball Special Exhibition off-site of the actual convention. From there you will need to obtain a ticket that will have a specific time slot for you to go to Tamashii Nations Booth # 3329 in the convention center to buy your figures. If you are unable to obtain a ticket they will make limited stock available at 5 PM PDT each day (I would still suggest attempting to get a ticket if at all possible). You can get the full details including times, purchase limits, and more on Tamashii Nations’ site. Definitely give that a read so you don’t end up surprised or without an exclusive figure you really want.

Also, be sure to check out our San Diego Comic Con 2024 Exclusives Checklist if you haven’t already, it’s a great resource if you are looking to score exclusives at the show or from home.

WILL THESE BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE OUTSIDE THE SHOW?

Typically Bandai makes their SDCC exclusives available on P-Bandai to purchase after the show. There’s obviously no guarantee they will do this until it is confirmed officially and that will probably be after the show. If/when they do this year I will update our SDCC 2024 Exclusives Checklist with the links as well as posting them on our socials, so make sure you are following me on Twitter!

SON GOKU, SON GOHAN (KID), & KINTOUN

Be prepared, the box for this set is large! Okay, it isn’t gigantic or anything but it is deep because it has to fit the rather large Kintoun, Goku’s fancy ride. The Kintoun is fantastic and includes a straight and curved tail. There is also a removable panel towards the back that covers up a plug for a Tamashii stand in case you want to secure your rider. I personally prefer to use gravity or a little blue tack to hold everyone in but to each their own. The cloud has two holes on the bottom that can plug into a stand as well, any Tamashii Stage Stand should work just fine.

The Goku is pretty standard but includes anything you’d need including his stick, hand options, and some nice face portraits. This year’s Kid Gohan is a pretty solid improvement over the one that came with Raditz. He has two shirts that can either accommodate him standing or sitting, you just need to pop the head and arms off to swap them out.

For my Fortnite action figure collectors this set counts for a Goku and Nimbus Cloud for your collection! Maybe one day Bandai will start including hands with trigger fingers, you know, just because.

You can pick up this set from Tamashii Nations Booth # 3329 for $100.00.

JIREN (FINAL BATTLE)

Jiren is essentially a repaint of the non-exclusive Final Battle version, looking over the original release he appears to have the same head portraits and accessories. What we do have here is a really nice change to the skin tones as well as a glossy finish on the pants, gloves, and boots. I’m glad they decided to do a new Jiren because, first off, I missed the original release and it has gotten pricier than I like on the aftermarket. Also I just really dig the new color scheme. He’s a beefy boy and so expressive, just a fun release overall and a great addition to the collection.

You can pick up this figure from the Tamashii Nations Booth # 3329 for $75.00.

FUTURE TRUNKS (SUPER SAIYAN)

I feel like they’ve just about perfected the Super Saiyan hair at this point. It’s just the right mix of translucence and paint wash so when the light hits the hair it looks fantastic! Between the Future Trunks’ hair and the nice clean face print expressions this makes a really nice exclusive version of the character. Jiren & Trunks both are solid exclusives that bring back a figure that newer fans may have missed with some new flair that can work for everyone.

You can pick up this figure from the Tamashii Nations Booth # 3329 for $75.00.

A big thanks to the folks over at Bandai Tamashii Nations for giving me the opportunity to showcase these figures prior to San Diego Comic Con. I look forward to seeing what they have to reveal this week! Don’t forget that our San Diego Comic Convention 2024 Exclusives Checklist includes links, panel times, and all information a collector would need if you are heading to the show or just following along from home.
